Warkworth Butchery, based in little ole Warkworth on the main street for over a century, is not only a local institution there, but now an NZ award winning butchery recognized throughout the country.
Not only did Rob Lees (owner) get NZ Master Butcher of the year 2020 in his first attempt, but followed with multiple awards at the NZ bacon awards 2022, including:
- Supreme | Dry Cured Middle Bacon (that's supreme as in the voted the best #1 bacon in NZ!)
- GOLD | | Preservative Free Dry Cured Bacon
- SILVER | Dry Cured Shoulder Bacon
And at the 2022 Great New Zealand Sausage Competition:

- GOLD | Lamb Merguez
In 2023, at the Great New Zealand Sausage Competition, awards didn't stop, bringing to Warkworth another 2 medalists with:

2024 didn't differ, at the Ham and Bacon Awards:
